Default fuel filter for model B ford

Do you recommend a fuel filter for use on a model B ford or can I just try to keep the fuel pump , sump, clean?

The obvious answer is...A fuel filter does nothing but "help". As I have noticed with your past post, a "added" fuel filter will only hurt you IF you are concerned about having your car judged at an Early Ford V8 Club concours, and given the carburetor/Intake set up from your previous post, "As Henry Built It" is not your #1 concern. SO sure, IF you drive and enjoy your car, which it seems like you do....An aftermarket fuel filter will do nothing but good!!! I currently am running one on my 39 Mercury

There should be a screen in the top of the pump.

I think until you figure out where the gunk is coming from, you need a filter. It's a pain to keep taking the carbs & fuel pump apart to clean
