I would switch the heads, water pumps, distributor all over to 59a style stuff to gain 1 1/2" of clearance at the front so you have room for the original fan and radiator. The details are here if you search.

Most everything has been covered a lot of times and is standard "Hot Rod" fare. The joker is the T5. The first thing you have to do is determine how you want to handle the rear end. Going to a open drive is almost essential. However, The late, great "V8Coopman" and his pal "Heard" figured out how to do it with a closed driveline. They documented the procedure quite well and it should be easy to find on this forum.

So true. "Coop" was one of the best- a wealth of knowledge and always willing to share.
A great loss to us all. |

first find a Merc or truck bellhousing that bolts to the 34 trams mission, A good move would be to use a 37 or later trans, Use a set of 8RT water pmps and make your own front mounts to the frame. Some people use the 34 mounts BUT!!!!!! I'duse an electric fan saves allot of trouble. I never did a 34 but I did do several 36'S

Use the '37-48 style water pumps (plug the bypass hole in the block), crank pulley, camshaft, timing cover, and distributor.
The Jeep T5 housing + torque tube route is expensive and can be tough to source. Since you have to modify the frame regardless of tailhousing, I'd probably just go the S10 route and convert to an open driveline.
