After a good solvent cleaning in my parts washer, I spray the carb body with brake cleaner as a final cleaner because it because it removes any grease or oil films and dries without leaving any residue. Then painted with VHT gloss black engine enamel.

Been looking for a Marvel carb for my '31 but all I can come up with are carbs for tractors.
I have nothing against tractors, but I would like to use a carb specifically made for an old Model A banger.

I am also in. I have been impressed by the improved performance of the Marvel over the Zenith or the Tilly.

Count me in . Had my marvel for a couple of years ,no issues, much better performance than my Zeniths. I made a micarta ( fenolic ) spacer between carb and manifold, prevents heat soak down from intake manifold to carb, when engine shut down, helps to prevent fuel expansion and fuel drips.

I’m in. Already tried Zeniths, currently running a Tillotson, but I like the idea of more power. The pot metal body does not worry me.

Codder,
I am very unfamiliar with the Marvel carbs and I do not know if those used on tractors, are the same or different that the Marvels used on Model As. I'm trying to learn as much as possible about, what seems to be, a very good carb for my Model A.
Thank you

I believe the tractor carburetors do not have the GAV adjustment provisions.

Thumbs up For Tow Vehicles

I put a quart bottle in my 80 gallon
diesel cross tank in my truck bed
occasionally when I fill - it helps
clean the tank and probably the
diesel injectors as well .

I agree on the Marvel carb, performance is fantastic.

Y-Blockhead... any chance those Marvel stickers might be available?
I really like those

I have been running my Marvel for about 8 years.
I drove my A to our next town with the marvel. The drive is a steady 6 mile uphill run. My A screamed up the hill with the Marvel doing 55 in overdrive.
I took the same drive with a brand new rebuilt Zenith. My A bogged down to 50 and I had to take the A out of overdrive to make the hill.
Conclusion: The Marvel is a better carb than the Zenith on my A.

I'm in. Have rebuilt a few and installed a few. One on the engine and one under the seat tuned to my car. Fun to offer a trial to someone that has not got theirs carb working, what ever it is, and see their smiles.
