Hello everyone, in an endeavour to finish my 34 ford fordor , I have to purchase some parts from dealers, but the problem I’m having is the fact they always seem to be out of stock of the bits I need. So who are the good dealers to purchase from ? I have used Bob Drake but he is totally out of the parts I need .Midwest early ford has a good amount of the parts I need but I have not dealt with them, so don’t know about quality . Are most of the products being made from one source?. Who would you recommend. Yours Nigel.

I at times deal with Midwest Early Ford and they are just fine and fair shipping prices. A friend here in France placed an order and was pleased with the parts and service.He has a 34 4 dr also. C&G in Escondido,CA,V8 Ford Sales in SC. Third Gen is a FordBarn favorite as well as Joe's Antique Auto. Parts are not made from one source.ThirdGen might have some orig stuff.Most of the others are platforms and are repro parts. Some will not ship internationally like Joe's and Classic in OK. CW Moss is another vendor and ships internationally.A buddy here uses them and gets his order within 5 days.Some of their parts are questionable tho.
I would say ThirdGen is your best bet.

Yeah third gen are amazing to deal with. Also millers hotrod works is great as well. I have noticed a huge amount of parts that no one has available across the board ..

Joes Antique Auto parts in Mass. and Third Generation Automotive are the way to go, never a problem, prompt and very knowledgeable.

Not sure if these guys are affiliated with Midwest Early Ford that you already tried. But these guys are called “Early Ford Store” in San Dimas, California.

The reality is that a growing number of reproduction parts are no longer available and likely never will be available again. Everything has a minimum quantity to be produced in order to achieve a reasonable per unit cost/price and to cover the cost of tooling. When the Drakes of the world conclude that there is no longer a market big enough for a particular item, they won't take the risk of ending up with a huge inventory of slow or non-moving parts that they have no hope of breaking even with.

The evidence is everywhere. This segment of the car hobby, like those of the Model T and A before is slowing down

I have placed many orders with Midwest Early Ford in Ohio, and they have been great. I also use Third Gen Automotive in Tennessee and they have also been great. Red's Headers in CA, and Melvin's Classic ford in GA are also very good, but their websites are limite, so you will have to call and ask for what you need.
