Default How to remove lower bell housing on 39 v8

The starter ring needs to be replaced. I pulled the engine and have removed the 4 bolts holding the lower bell housing. What's next?

In the US, sump means oil pan.

The truck pans have a trap door so they could remove the 11 inch clutch on those so equipped. The car pans, not so much.
