Had a great time at the meet.

Chris let me drive his truck again.

It was an enlightening ride.

Chris and I discussed ideas to keep the club going into the future.

He has some good ideas. Hoping we all can keep it going,

When the concourse was released, I brought out the Schwinn.

Lots of great Fords.

Thanks to the members for sharing their great photos.

My new Ford Friend, Darrell Harding, Dearborn, Michigan, let me drive his beautiful 1950 Ford convertible after the meet. With this drive I will have completed the feat of driving a vehicle from every decade from the 19Teens, 20s, 30s, 40s, 50s, 60s, etc., all the way to the present decade. It was something that just sort of happened. Thanks to all who let me drive their cars.

One thing for sure. We are all family. We respect each other and wish all the best. The V-8 Club is one of the best National Club of the all for sure.

Yup.

In 2014, just a couple days before the Springfield, IL, meet, when I could not get my car to run right, Tom O'Donnell tried to help me fix the car over the phone. My car could not make it. Grant Fleming could not get his car to the meet either. Ken Bounds let us use his 1936 Ford for the Route 66 Tour. Tom and Ken are two great guys who are ready to help members. Thanks Ken and thanks Tom. Glad to be part of it.

Ford Folks,
Some additional pictures from the meet:
Pat's awesome shoebox!

I like this Merc, (not a Mercury, a Lincoln)

On the hot and dry concourse, Was better than on tarmack:

Judging and 97 degree weather, I think John had a great time!

I cooled Cheryl down with ice cold towels, she did not mind much either:

Regards,
Chris and Cheryl

Chris,

That Merc you like is a Lincoln!

Great to see you guys and your Ragged Ol 32 looked really neat displayed with the dump lifted.

Additional pictures.
I did show the ragged old truck with the bed up, and safely blocked. No problems with the operation of a 90 year old hydraulic lift system:

We drove to the Auburn town square for a very nice car show.

Some dump trucks that are in the musuem

on our way home

Fred, Luke, I did get the starter cable fixed with a good simple farmers fix. This is not even close to stock but what it allowed me to do was keep the nice original knob on the dash! Thanks to Mike at the early V8 museum with some brainstorming and a electrical connector, to extend the broken cable. It didn't work as expected and when crimped to the broken wire it pulled through. Today I added a small gob of weld on the end of the wire to keep it from pulling through the crimped connector. Very crude fix but effective!

So the workshop at the Early V8 museum helped fix another issue with an old Ford! Thanks to Mike for the help!

I also saw pictures of another illusive 32 commercial radiator cap from somewhere in Texas! Hope to see that big Ford truck at a show someday!
Regards,
Chris and Cheryl

Ken,
Thanks for correcting me on the Lincoln! Shows how much I don't know about these cars and trucks! It was a great show!

Luke and I made it home yesterday. We had some excitement in Indianapolis that resulted in an unplanned rear axle ratio change. The folks that helped us are planning to write something up for the V8 Times so I will save the details for their story. V8 people are the best, we were given the parts to fix my car and we had expert help with covered parking to do the work.

Here are a few pictures. I go out of town for work starting tomorrow so I don't have time for a better write up now. I will probably add more pictures next week.

The National Board would love to hear what Ideas you have concerning "keeping the club going". Perhaps you and Chris could co-ordinate with your National Regional director about presenting them at the next Board of Directors zoom meeting? Not sure your area to advise your director BUT IF you cannot contact him, I could maybe also assist you with that endeavor "IF" you would be so Interested in sharing? The National Club needs membership participation AND input on its direction.

Thank you, Rockfla

Thanks.

I am going to post the discussion on the club page.

There are solutions.
