Default 1940 master cylinder repair kit

My 1940 master cylinder was apart. Got a rebuild kit that has a rubber washer in it. None of the diagrams show it, where does it go? Thanks Ron

There is no rubber washer. The "piston stop" is a steel washer.

As Kurt said above, the washer goes in the cylinder first, and sits at the very bottom of the bore...clear at the end. Then the check valve and spring, cup and piston. The washer's job is sealing the check valve to the end of the cylinder.
