Default 1947 1.5-Ton Front Leaf Spring

Hello,

I recently bought a 47 1.5 ton grain truck which is in need of a new front spring. Does anyone have any ideas where I might find one of those? Everything I see is for the 1/2 tons or cars. Thanks.

Dale

Many people buy a 1-1/2 ton truck and take the cab off for a project or for their pickup. The result is there are a lot of 1-1/2 ton truck frames languishing in back lots. If you look around, you might find someone willing to part out the front spring, or you might have to buy the whole frame to get the front spring.
I've purchased two complete chassis (no sheet metal or body) and have been rewarded with all sorts of parts that I can't find elsewhere.

I have the front half of a '47 1 1/2 ton frame, but I don't think the springs are there. My cardiologist makes me take some laps around my property after dinner so I will take a look tonight. If not I know a guy in Utah who might. Josh Madsen. Maybe someone here has his contact info.

The springs are there. I can text a friend of Josh tomorrow to get his info. Shipping not such an issue in Utah. But mine are in good shape and available.

Thanks GB. That is good news! Would be easier to find some in Utah but good to know you have them if it comes to that.

I'm thinking in your part of the country, this truck must be quite free of rust. We like pictures! And I'm glad you found more parts and closer too.
