Default Cast aluminum or pot metal cowl light arms

Were these an aftermarket item for 1930/31 ?? All I have ever seen in catalogs are stainless steel. Thanks, Bud.

I see now that Bratton's sells chrome plated die cast arms, I guess my question now is were the Ford production arms always stainless steel on the 30 and 31?

I always thought that the arms were cast and the housings stainless.

It is my understanding that the cowl light arms on 30-31 Model As were all cast from the factory. Most were Pot Metal but there were a few factory arms that were cast in brass. All were chrome plated. The housings were all Stainless.

There was a guy named Sheldon Greenland that reproduced lots of accessories back in the '60's. He advertised in the Restorer and the Model A News.

He ran a batch of brass arms because shell casings were so cheap from Korea, He was my neighbor and quite a card.

[QUOTE=Art Bjornestad;22901]There was a guy named Sheldon Greenland that reproduced lots of accessories back in the '60s.

I bought some parts from Sheldon Greenland in'65. He was well known for Moto Meters, Quails, and tail lights for the A. Worked out of his garage in a nice part of Pasadena. Still have some of his product, but just one of his brass cowl light arms. Sometimes at the bigger A events, the brass is seen peeking through worn chrome on his old arms, still in use. Good Luck: Fred A
