I have the same rear sump oil pan that I bought in 1964 on my 8BA in my 40. It is a rear sump oil pan that came off a 1949-53 Merc. That pan was needed in order to have tie rod clearance. I welded the lug nut to the oil pan drain bolt to make easier access. Those studs on your pan are for a bracket that mounts there. I think Ford pickups also used it.
Look at these oil pans for comparison. https://www.bing.com/images/search?q...1&disoverlay=1 Last edited by 19Fordy; 11-12-2023 at 11:29 AM. |
