1936 Phaeton - Please Read
I recently listed this car for auction on a leading auction site (not BaT…) and have received multiple offers slightly below the $30,000 reserve. Thinking about what I truly want for the car, it is, more than anything, a good home with someone who will advance the project. Kubes, DavidG and others have kindly dipped into their personal stocks of unobtanium to help along the way and I think it important that a community member be the next steward. With this in mind, and knowing the car must be shipped from Maine, and with the promise (!) to the community that you will keep us posted on your progress, please let me know if you have interest and I will do right by you, the community, and the hobby. This same construct will apply to the 1938 station wagon which I expect to offer next month. Thank you.

what a beauty! I have a 35 and am a long way off from what youve built.
Congrats on your attitude of progression vs just money. I applaud you. |

Thank you ronn - makes me sick at the thought of this car ending up in the wrong hands, particularly since so many members here have helped get it to its current condition. Detailed photos and description are on the H*mmings web site should you be interested. Best, J

Wow .
I know the feeling David . I have recently given my 68 E Jaguar away . I was offered $36,000 by my British neighbor , hard to resist, but I wanted to be in my family . Having no children, I decided it should go to a younger cousin whos father was the one to get me into jags and old cars . He owned a paint and body shop all his life . May the cars live on . PS , my cousin was offered the money by my neighbor and I’m glad he refused it . Last edited by Ggmac; 10-13-2023 at 02:42 PM. |

I'm only 43 but this is what I would do with my cars when the time comes. If my daughters don't want them, I'd give them to someone who will appreciate, care for and not butcher them. Get a youngster involved that way.
PS, your '36 Phaeton is stunning. |
