Default 46 Ford Car Rear brake backing plate removal

Hello! I did a search and couldn't find if anyone has had this situation.
I'm removing the rear axle to replace a pinion bearing and am having trouble getting the rear backing plates off -- I want to take everything apart and clean and rebuild. Specifically my issue is with the bottom front bolt. I've got all 4 nuts off, (which was sort of a chore in itself!), but these 2 bolts wont come out. Same location on each side. I've hit one with a pretty substantial hammer, wont budge! I may have damaged the threads some on one of them. Should I warm up the housing with a torch, or ???
Any suggestions are welcome. Thank you!

Try Loosening the radius rod at the front end by removing the bolt that holds the two together.
