Re: Winfield Cams
I've got a 284ci 8BA with a Winfield 1A repo cam, offy heads and dual intake with two Holley 94's. It's not very happy on the low end. The original owner put 3.00 gears in the rear with an S10 T5 and I've got to stay in lower gears to keep the engine happy. 3.73 rear gears are in my future to remedy the problem. I will agree with everyone else that it runs great in the higher revs and sounds fantastic!

Re: Winfield Cams
Would it be possible to enlarge, Flathead Forever's 1st page? They are extremely interesting and real pages out of history!
I recognize some names, of course Hilborn sticks out but, is that Phil Remington of Shelby fame? Then there is Ak Miller, that everyone should know and is that Chuck Daigh that, later became a road racer? I'm from Orange Co. and in HS ('59-'62), I remember the car club plates, in the rear windows. Especially The Road Runners and to a lesser extent, The Lancers, were the Road Runners, mostly OC?
