Hi All.. I put some grease on the gearbox tail shaft where the universal slides on tas it seems a tad dry.
But there is still a boinging going on when I move the truck in reverse. Only happens once as I move off. My hearing isn't what it used to be but I'm sure it's coming from the back end now.
Any ideas... axles, brake drums?

Could suggest you contact Flathead Ted, Ted Spain, on this forum. He is a local Auckland guy who will surely able to assist. Perhaps to drive the car to his place and let him listen to Boing.

Fair chance one of the universal joints is failing. Could also be something broken in the rear suspension components.

"Boing" sounds like slack in suspension. Check bushings and bolts. U-joints and bearings sound more like "klunk".
