E-Free Gas Price
I stopped at the Waller, Texas Bucees station to fill my modern car with gas yesterday. This car requires 93 octane and the price was $4.659 for that. The price for E-Free was an even $6.00.

Re: E-Free Gas Price
Why does one have to pay more for something they're not getting?

Re: E-Free Gas Price
glad you can afford it Leonard.
I paid 2.25 a gallon for heating oil for my old farm house in August. I burn 1000 gallons a winter. this year should be about 6.50 a gallon, so yes, my bill is up almost 300%..... and then everything else............ what a bargain. just glad I dont drive a tesla. |

Re: E-Free Gas Price
BEWARE of ethanol free gas, or at least where you get it. I got some E-free gas at a little station here in town. Came from a pump over on the side of the station. It was full of crap that caused me to have to pull my tank and flush it out. Just damn.

Re: E-Free Gas Price
40% of Teslers run on coal.......
With local gas stations 'correcting' their pumps to charge double digit prices (above $10@ gallon), & high heating oil prices, look forward to a long winter. |

Re: E-Free Gas Price
Hopefully prices will moderate before you have to fill this Fall.
well my theory is they wont- so I will only put 500 gallons of heating oil in this yr. keep the thermo at 50 and supplement with electric heaters. While I know electricity is expensive, "they" will keep electric prices down somewhat, to sell their agenda. at least for this yr.......... so will model As run on moonshine? yes I am insane........... I am ready to corner the bicycle mkt. LOL |

Re: E-Free Gas Price
Oh, for the good old days. I remember in 1950 that gas cost around 15.9 cents a gallon. We often put 25 cents worth in the tank because that was all we had. One Saturday morning two friends and I were going to the country in my ’37 Ford to visit with my uncle. There was a price war going on and we filled the tank at 11.9 cents per gallon. About a block later it was 9.9 cents and we almost cried.

Robert, too funny!
in HS I remember deciding on if I would eat something or put my last 2.00 in the tank.... it was often a tough choice. sometimes I split it! lol |

Re: E-Free Gas Price
Had e-free gas delivered to the house for $4.89 a gallon last week. We have a lot of small motors and an outboard as well as the A's and daily drivers. The improvement in MPG makes the extra cost worthwhile. Price the cost of a couple of Honda 10HP stationary engine carbs and you can justify the extra cost of e-free gas.

Re: E-Free Gas Price
Don't worry about ethanol free gas for your Model A, it doesn't need it. I run my daily driver Model A on anything I can find: gas, diesel, jet fuel, used motor oil, alcohol, veggie oil, the lot. I once ran my Model A on straight ethanol and 5% used motor oil ran fine and no problems afterwards. I bought my Model A truck originally because it was a multifuel vehicle. never had a problem so long as it can make a flammable vapor, the A will run on it happily. I am a scrapper by trade, so when I find an old lawn mower for example, I will drain the gas and oil, filter the oil through a shop towel, add 3 oz of the used motor oil to the tank and drive away. no smoke, no clogged jets, no fouled plugs, just have to turn the gav a bit to find the sweet spot.
