Is this about mounting the new tires and tubes? Not sure what you are asking. I can tell you that I have always sprayed WD40 on a rag and then wiped along the 'bead' of the tires and the skirt of the rims to ease the mounting. WD40 because it will soon evaporate and leave no residue. Some say water works as well. In any case the idea is to reduce the friction and make the mounting process easier.



Talcum will help the tube center itself inside the tire during inflation. Some guys will wipe it into the inside of the tire to eliminate any 'sticky' spots that might snag the tube during installation and inflation.
