I recently bought a 1950 Ford Club Coupe that was an unfinished rebuild. I need to install the radiator and want to confirm that radiator mounts to the grille side of the radiator mounting bracket versus on the fan side. With no car shows going on these days to look at other 50 Ford flatheads I am hoping one of you can help me out.

I’m at work and my ‘50 Fordor is way out front in the parking lot. I can’t remember for sure but I think I put it in front on grille side. I know the lower hoses are easier to put on if you do it as you slide the rad down. I’ll check when I’m out and see if anybody has answered your question.....got any pics of your car?..... Mark

I just checked my '51, and the radiator is mounted in front of the core support. I have to believe this is correct, because the mounting flange is not flat, and if the radiator was mounted behined, tightening the bolts would crush and bend the flange.
