Re: NEW products available thread
I have a customer looking for an antenna hole plug in the windshield center dowel for a 1939 Convertible. This is different than the closed car that Carpenter makes. Ford show part# 91A-7403456 for 1939 and 1940. I have never seen one.
Regardless, I made a 3D printed (pla plastic) version of what I thought the plug might look like. If anyone has one, or seen one, did I get it close? Also what color should it be? |

Re: NEW products available thread
Karl, It appears your customer is doing his best to properly restore his convertible. That being the case, you may want to share with him the fact that the center (interior) windshield molding had NO hole in the top if the car was not equipped with a radio.

Re: NEW products available thread
Anyone that hasn't had a chance to thumb through Karl Wescott's (Wescott restyling)'s offerings is really missing out. Many attach the name Wescott with the best Fiberglass products available, and while true It's amazing the other hard to find items he offers that restorers hunt for.

Re: NEW products available thread
This week I had a itch to have some 35/36 car and 35-39 pickup headlamp nuts made. They are exact as original awaiting plating. Odd size that’s unavailable these days.

Re: NEW products available thread
I'm sure that you meant to put one in the photo alongside the original shown.

Re: NEW products available thread
Dumb me; sorry. Of course you were referring to the nuts and not the bolts.

Re: NEW products available thread
Just had these made up. 41-48 Hood latch dowels. Made here in Tennessee out of stainless. The cupped washer and spring will be done soon... stainless as well. Pictured is next to a original (excuse my black thumb recently smashed by a hammer) |
