Default Basecoat clearcoat paint

Has any one had any experience with Limco Supreme base coat paint. Can you put PPG claer over it or use DT reducer in the basecoat? And yes I do know you shouldn't mix different brands but I do know some products are compatable with others. R-M,PPG,Dupont for example. I've never heard of Limco. I use PPG exclusively and have some Dupont products. This color I am dealing with was a special mix and I have a small area on the left front of roof to try to blend in. I have a little over over half a quart of this paint.

How big a gambler are you? Would the various brands/components be compatible; maybe, maybe not. Might seem OK at first but fail later. I prefer to go with the "system". Good luck either way.

I've cleared Dupont with PPG. Used PPD and R-M together but never even heard of Limco until now. I,m not too worried about the reducer. It's the clear coat i'm more concerned about.

+2 on using a system that is designed to go together. I would not be willing to chance clear coating over something that may or may not be compatible.

If both are urethane systems it should be OK. The pros say use the same system from the base to the finished top coat. Solid advice, it helps isolate "finish problems" should they arise.
