Guess I will add since I started this nonsense, ive always said fa-ton. Our English gents may have a better grasp on this one though- 'Brough Superior'. I say broff, but I have heard many say bro (to me that's someone on the street, lol).
btw, living just below the mason Dixon line, there is a mix between creek and crick. I grew up with crick and that's where it stands, but then again my grandparents were from the deepest, darkest part of VA!
