Any one put A t-170 OD transmission in a 53 f-100 with a flathead? If so what were the problems in doing the swap? thanks, I have A 1985 T-170 out of A f-150 .thinking about putting it behind my 53 f-100.

I doubt very much that someone is making a bell-housing adapter to to fit the T-170 OD to the 8BA style of engine.
The 1951 and later F-1 V8 trucks came with a three on tree OD option, I think it was a Borg-Warner.. The '51 and later OD trans for the cars and trucks should be the same unit.

Easiest way is to use the stamped steel shoe box bellhousing but you will need to make clutch linkage and a transmission mount.
If your crafty it's pretty straight foward |

The '53 truck bell has side mounts, along with a centered front engine mount. A lot of work would be required to adapt a car bell. |

The 53 truck bell is all by itself (one year ) and too deep ( like a y block truck bellhousing)for the t170 input shaft. Crafty is the key word |
