rented out a few members cars for a T.V. pilot last year; L.A. Confidential, a high end TV show (sorry, won't ever be shown because of dispute over who would get the most $ from streaming services).. We also were tech advisors on the show..
True if you don't have a good "picture car" foreman on site, your car will get molested.. I turned down the offer for my car, going rate was $400 a day, my partner's 47 ford was used as the "hero car".. He made $4500.00 for the entire pilot filming.. But definitely have your own "driver".. you can negotiate for car & driver on set for $600 a day!
