Didn't it go to Europe -or somewhere out of the country? I'd bet Bill Sturm could tell you.

Does anyone know what happened to his very early roadster ? From memory it was all black and had a 3 digit number 971?

I think that one ended up with the Gooding family.

Hi Deron,
That is interesting as they all combined to do 'Emily' *A241* which was Dawn Grey, the other one *A973* which was black was owned by Doc. Cheers

Yep, not sure why I was thinking that. It's what I get for going off of memory! Check your PM's for the last owner I have on record.

Re: Doc Kalinka's early 1928 Model A Open Cab Pickup
A241 is in Gooding's Show room; Michael is Fred Gooding's son, he has all of Fred A's, including A354 which is almost completely restored by Michael. Doc helped Fred complete the restoration of A241. Michael knows a lot about the very early A's. When Fred was still with us he made several trips to my home to check out my A1276; the engine went to Assembly on Dec. 3, 1927; the body is by Kentucky Wagon Mfg. Co. of Louisville, KY, it was installed on a passenger car chassis with a 10 leaf "D" rear spring. I just returned from the MAFCA National in SPARKS, NV, out of 20 A's in the restored class A1276 was 3rd with 483.9 points. Note: A1276 is for sale if some one is interested send me a PM.
Thanks, Ron |
