Default 29 closed cab sub-frame dimensions

I have a 29 model a closed cab pick up truck, that I got in pieces where the back of the cab is separated from the front cowls. The truck didn't come with a frame or sub-frame, so I was gonna build my own. I thought I could build a sub-frame for the cab to have it all square so in the future i could put it on a model a frame. The problem I ran into is that I'm not able to find any dimensions on the cab's width or length. Does anyone have dimensions for the sub-frame and/or the bottom of the cab?

Jack,
I don't have the measurements you want and I'm assuming you want a driver rather than a show car.
Have you sat in one of those cars before? If you are a larger guy, you might find it a bit "cozy". If that is the case, I'd look at making the cab a little longer than original and either moving the box back or shortening it. Just a thought that might help in the long run.

Yeah I have sat in one before and you're right about it being a cozy. I have seen that I could extend the cab, I forgot about that, thanks for reminding about being able to extend the cab. Do you know where or from who I could get the measurements, to put the cab together?

i have 2 cabs rolling around I could measure but they arent like a basic shape...if you can get me specific points you want measured i can do that. Ive heard these cabs are a bear to get the doors to align right.

I had a complete running chassi but no body. Bought a cowl section from a friend that has the sub rails cut off. made sub rails out of 3" wide C purlin with intention of some kind of pickup. Picture below is what I have ended up with. Seat is moved back about 3 inches to accommodate extra long legs. Even shortened the steering column to make it easier to get in nd out of.

Seaslugs,
I think these measurements would help me out along with a picture of the bottom of cab. I attached an image showing what measurements I think would be helpful.

Kenparker,
When you built your sub rails out of the purlins, did you have to been them to fit the model slight curve.

I did not "bend" them, but did have to cut and splice to get the angle to work out. The angle and width of the cowl was different from the angle and width of the rear of the cab. Iwill look and see if I can find some photos of the subs. ken

I should be able to snag some tomorow if its not raining. I will have to lay on my back and get them. I imagine your interested in how they are constructed? I dont think I can get a complete bottom of the cab but can get joints and the "layers" of material.

I dismantled my 29 4 yrs ago, sandblasted and primer, lengthened the subrails 6" and sheared and broke new cab corners out of 14 ga cr , reassembled. Now disassembled to paint parts individually. Mac's sells the subframes A41000819 $346. a set. If I can help with dimensions, could you be more pacific which ones.
