The ad says it's an A400. The side window looks like a 400A but
the back of the body looks like a Victoria. http://www.ebay.com/itm/1931-Ford-Mo...m=222320067336 Bob |

Doesn't look like it much matters now what it was...
Now it's just a Red Menace. That folding top is a real piece of work. Looks like it was cribbed from a '74 Super Beetle. |

If that was in my garage I'd have it on ebay also. Just goes to show there's more than one way to wreck a car.

![]() I hate it when these tools wreck a car and call it what ever it was before they wrecked it. Over here, for a car to be called let's say, a 1931 Model A, it must have 5 of the 7 major components from that car. They are: Radiator, Front End, Chassis, Engine, Gearbox, Rear End and Steering Column. The other two must be period correct. It is interesting to note that the body is not considered a major component and that is because custom bodies were so often fitted to a chassis by the original purchaser to his specification. That is not so much the case with a Model A, but the rule still applies. Clearly, this car does not have any where enough 1931 Model A in it to be called such. It is a total misrepresentation.

The car is a Hot - Rod, not a restored car. Why do you all belittle cars like it? I drive a rat-rod a 31 boat tail speedster a 1958 chevy car . Ilove them all! Admit it you like hot-rods and craftsman ship dont you. All cars are interesting to me!

or its got more fiberglass than anything and whatever didnt fit in the chrome plating tanks got painted bright red - slap a set of cheapo american racing chrome rims or weld racing rims on it. Gets really old seeing the same things done over and over. Rat rods or rolling tentnaus shots I really dont get. Its one thing if your literally piecing together whatever leftovers noone wants and is destined to the scrap yard but they all look the same anymore - theres little imagination it seems. put skinny tall tireson it, chop the roof so theres a 6" windshield, no hood, lower it so its got 3" of ground clearence, channel the body so it sits almost on the ground then weld pistons or wrenches as a grille...Of course let it all rust and its either mostly missing brown or black paint - put a fake garage name/emblem on the door. Shame when they do it to a easily restorable car - I think thats what urks most of us. I would much rather have an origonal car from the teens - 50's than a hot rod. Its interesting seeing people at cruise ins - I get alot of smiles and stories and new parents telling their 5 year old this is the car I drove in high-school or college when I take my chevette. Same people will walk right past the $30K+ 69 camaro right next to me
