I get a lot of joy out of brining them back. I knew the guy was the right guy, he said he had been searching for a 35-36 pickup for a long time and he is keeping the body as it is. He wanted a barn find looking truck. He is going to keep me posted on the progress and hopefully I will be able to continue this thread.

vanspeed I can understand the buyer's dilemma. Nice '35-'36 Ford pickups that haven't been rodded, and still are mostly original, aren't that easy to come by.

Seems like most of them have been cut and chopped and mutilated beyond belief.

If you watch Old Cars Price Guide, and I just picked up the 2017 issue, they value '35 pickups in #1 condition at $26,000 and '36's in #1 condition at $25,500 if I recall. The book is out in the garage. This seemed kind of on the weak side because a '35 or '36 pickup in absolutely mint condition will almost always bring upper 30's to around 40 grand from what I have seen in the auctions, not counting buyer's premium of usually 10%

ALSO please note I'm not asking you what you sold for that is NO ONE'S business but your's and the guy that bought your pickup...............

Thanks Mark, yeah he was over joyed by the fact that it was basically done body wise. Everything worked as it should. I am without a doubt happy with the price. I too keep an eye on 35-36 pickup value and we both very happy with the deal. All he needed to get for originality purposes was a seat. I still have my coupe (never leaving) so yeah I am gonna miss it but I am eager to find the next one.

He said exactly that, he said he was looking for a non chopped up, original complete truck and he said he could not find anything. I trust him, he is going to add some speed equipment to the 21 stud, maybe reverse the eyes on the springs and put in a oak wood bed kit. All stuff I have no problems with at all. Heck I probably was going that route also

Jeff: Sorry to see your truck leave but you got the "right Price" and seems the buyer is "on your page". Enjoyed seeing your "story" and was glad to be a part of your project!! I'll keep a "Lookout" for a '35 and let you know if I come across one. Keeping drinking that good beer!! and my door is always open!!

I just got word from the buyer that the truck has been completely torn apart and all parts are at an acid dipper. Not real happy as he said he was keeping the patina but it is his truck, he can do with it what he wants. Is honesty such a hard thing these days??

Sorry you sold the truck, but always glad you got what you needed to get out of it. It seemed like you had a good workable plan, a vision of what it could be, and were on the right track to have that cool old patina'd truck of your dreams.

Great job on this project. I have been watching for a original 35-39 pickup that has not been hackex up myself. Wish the new owner would have just kept to traditional barn find look.

What a shame to dip something like that! It IS his now, I totally get that, but these projects become a part of us and they are so difficult, ok, impossible to 'unrestore' later.

Just went threw the whole thread. And Wow what a great job bringing back my favorite Truck . I have always been on the hunt for one, price of these rigs are above my pay grade.Not giving up yet. Hated to hear getting torn apart the truck was perfect. Again you did a outstanding job!!
