1949 Mercury hand brake cable?

The 49 Merc is different than the 50/51. It has a lever under the dash that the hand brake control tube is attached to on one end then the lever is pinned to the structure under the dash. The brake cable should have a forked clevis on the end of it that uses a clevis pin to attach to the fulcrum lever.

Yes, indeed the '49 Merc. E-brake is different than the '50-'51.
