I just happened to have a Hastings set I ordered for my winter project. The engine is a ford replacement block with the '59' cast on the bell, but 3 1/16" bore. Mine is also .060 over. The oil rings in mine are 2 piece. I got them from Bob Selzam in NJ. He buys a lot of surplus, nos etc parts so these may not be the current production run. I am excited to try the ball hone with waterless hand cleaner routine. I have only used a 3 stone hone in the past. Is the 3 1/4" size the best size overall for flathead V8 work? Here's my ring set and maybe I can answer some questions if needed.

That is a 3 piece oil ring set.The "blue" wrapper is 3 piece oil ring. One flex vent with 2 rails,and also a 1 piece oil ring in the other wrapper look at the picture. That is a set with 2 oil ring packs in it.The correct set

The hand cleaner works well. You can e mail the plant with the date code as it is on the end of the box and they will tell you the production date.

Thank you Ronnie. I hadn't spent any time looking at them as they were in a box of parts I ordered a few months back and now I'm waiting for fall/winter to dig into this thing. Pretty sure this engine will go into the woodie wagon.
