It is difficult for me to estimate how many were actually there because some were still in trailers and many others were spread out and parked all around the hotel. I'm thinking there were about 100 registered, so maybe 100 cars, just a guess.

The meet was ruined but my vacation has not been ruined by a long shot. Camped out north of Olivia MN. Traveling off the interstate to Auburn and met up with Jeff Horrock. We helped them put up the FORD letters at the foundation then toured the Cord Dusenberg museum. Heading home in the morning.

There were 81 vehicles registered for the meet. During the first day of registration there were a few no-shows and 26 people had not yet registered. Probably 60+ on site.

Hi Everyone, I got this in the mail from Cragun's yesterday.

I'm really looking forward to finding a way to get back there somehow. It looked like we were going to have some great fun!

The last photo is of a refrigerator magnet.

"The card reads: Thank you for your support and understanding during the storm and its aftermath here at Cragun's. Enclosed please find a memento to mark this historic event."

"We hope to see you again soon."

Pretty cool Jeff. I am hoping I have those same items when I get back home. I would like to go back to Brainerd again, but not real soon. I am gearing up with the intention of driving one of my '35's to Tulsa, OK next June. Have talked to another friend and fellow V8er/Barner about joining in somewhere along the way. Maybe pack a light tent and sleeping bag to do some camping along the way. Then maybe Gettysburg or Bonneville Speed Week in August. Unfortunately those two events fall on the same week, so will be a tough decision.

YEAH!!! Let's check with Bruce and see if he is willing to make another attempt on this, besides, the folks around Brainerd have probably used up all that free firewood by now, and might be looking for more .

Any time you wanna sit in some other seat, I'd be behind your steering wheel in that truck a New York Minute.

Hi John, I'm 160 miles southwest of Brainerd, but I know they recently
had some turbulent weather up there lately, and more than their share
of rain too, but I'm sure the old Fords would be more than a welcome
attraction to the folks in that neck of the woods.

Maybe Tubman (Denny) will chime in if he see's this. Happy Motoring

I live just north of Brainerd, directly east of Craguns resort about 5 or 6 miles and was in the center of the storm last year. We have 17 acres of woods and lost an estimated 300 mature trees, not counting all the young saplings that got bent over and flattened. Many trees down in our yard, but only damage was to the corner of our deck and a big oak came down next to my pole shed and busted the tails off the rafters and punched some holes in the roof so I had to replace two thirds of the steel on that side of the roof--40x60 shed. Our old cars were in a garage with no damage at all. That was July 12 last year. This year on July 11 we had got 10 plus inches of rain along with some wind. No trees down. Two weeks later we got another blast of wind and lost some trees, one big Norway pine leaned over the house, but hung up in another tree so only two shingles were scuffed. We have gotten several heavy downpours of an inch or two in a short time, so have been pumping water out of the basement for over a month. But.......many people had much more damage than we, so we are very grateful. I burn wood for 90% of our heat, but I have more downed oak trees than I will ever burn. I'm 63 and in good shape, but I'll want to quit cutting wood before I get it cleaned up. Rod
