Default Firewall removal

After removing all the fastners should the firewall seperate from the body and cowl? [this is in a 1934 pickup.]

lucky i know the 32 does since the cabs are allmost the same i would say yes

Isn't that entirely spot welded? I think any fasteners you are seeing are for hood hinge bracket, cloth padding, etc.
You are all done except for drilling out about 50 spotwelds...
'32 is about the complete list of Ford V8's with removable firewall. My '33 firewall needs to come out for some retrofitting, since it is now employed as part of a '32, and I am not looking forward to the festivities!

theres a special drill tip for taking out spot welds makes the job a lot easier

The previous posts are correct; you will need to drill out a couple dozen spot weldsand a spot weld cutter makes the job much easier. Not really too tough or time consuming with the cutter; it'd be well worth the $16 to buy one.

This goes for both '33 and '34. The '32 uses a completely different cowl band for the firewall mounting.
