Looks like a 1937 after market hub cap. Do I get anything if I am right? Ed

37 accessory hubcap? Hmm..

It looks a lot like the spyder hubcaps that were available, minus the spoke cover (spyder) outer edge.

I can't figure it out to save my soul. LOL

It is an accessory hubcap that was commonly used on Lincoln wheels. The give-a-way is the "spokes" are not made with the hubcap. In this scenario, the wheel itself would have been plated giving the appearance of a spyder hubcap. I can't see for sure in the picture, but appears it is a '36 not a '37.

The definitive answer is... It is an accessory hubcap. Part number 68-1150-B. From the 1937 Book... "Originally released in 1936 to be used with a special wheel with chrome plated spokes, it apparently found popularity with people who liked the look of having the painted wheel spokes between the hub cap and the wheel trim ring. This hub cap came only with the INDENTED "V8"and circle like the 1936 standard equipment hubcaps. It appears in the 7/27/36 accessory list and even some later lists, but not in the 1936 Chassis Parts List.

I believe Ford Pilot hubcaps are all chrome, BUT I don't think that is one because the Pilot ones are more bulbous and don't look quite as good. That is a good looking cap for sure.

Mart.

Definitely looks like a '36 style because the V8 and outer ring are indented. Could it be an aftermarket repop, Can't tell if it is chrome or stainless? It is a nice looking hubcap.

Thank you, I think it is nice looking as well. Gives it that slight custom look! The rear has stock 39 std hubcaps, although it is hard to see them under the skirts. I would like to find two more of the stock 39 std and two of the front. I just haven't had much luck identifying them. It does have the V8 symbol, thought about painting it the correct blue. Would the Lincoln have had the V8 symbol as well?

Since the hub cap has V8 stamped on it, I doubt that a V12 Lincoln owner would want to use it.

Its hard to tell by the picture, but if the V/8 on this hub cap is concaved it's a 36. To me the picture looks like the V/8 is convexed making it a 37. I have some of those hub caps, and when Pages Model A went out of business, I bought all their hub caps, from 28 to 48.Ed

Here are photos of the 1936 Ford Hubcap (top) and the 1937 Ford Hubcap (Lower). At a close glance, they appear to be the same, but as has been mentioned by CaliforniaBorn36, the V8 and outer ring are recessed on the 36 Hubcap and raised on the 37 Hubcap. The Ford Pilot Hubcap has a plain centre, no V8 emblem or ring.

These are the accessory Spider Hubcaps for the 36 Ford (top) and 1937 Ford (lower). Once again, they are both very similar, but the V8 and ring on the 36 Hubcap is recessed, while it is raised on the 37 Hubcap.

Thank you for the great pictures Mercman. Yep, that is what I have, 36 Ford hubcaps all polished. I took one off and they are stainless with a steel ring where the clips hold on to it. There is a number written on the inside 68-1130B. Does that number line up with a 36 hubcap as well? I am looking in my 38/39 EFV8 FORD book and it of course does not show that number. It talks of a 68-1130C but doesn't show a picture.

I appreciate the help. Regards, Jeremy

Got one similar on the wall for a 37, no spoke covers built in, raised V8.
Upside down picture again, but with a hubcap does it really matter?

Here are pictures of the Set of Accessory Stainless Steel non-Spyder 1936 Ford Hubcaps that are currently for sale on eBay.
This style of 1936 Ford Hubcap was never offered in Australia. Unfortunately, I don't have one in my display of Ford Hubcaps.
