I have done this to a number of our antique vehicles, both 6 and 12 volt, Ford and non Ford. As mentioned previously, I modify the OEM fuel pump, making it a pass through (I detailed the modification on my thread "What I did on my Lunch Hour") and I leave the pushrod in. This way the Airtex pump and fuel pressure regulator (set at 2.5 lbs.) become the full time fuel delivery system.
