12 volt coil and battery for 48 Ford
I'm converting my 48 Ford to 12 volt. What size battery would be best to fix in stock battery tray. Also what is a good coil to use with stock Ford Dis.
Who makes good drop resistors for gauges, heater motor. thanks for any help. |

Re: 12 volt coil and battery for 48 Ford
You are heading into an unnecessary mess with 12v. All your instruments are very sensitive to no more than 4v and will burn out if not correct. There is absolutely no reason a flathead Ford will not run fine on 6v. If you want brighter headlights, fix your grounds. Even engines with HC heads will start on 6v when you have good grounds.
