Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Apparently someone at Ford thought it was a good idea.

The 37 Ford pickup pictured in the copy of page 67 of The Commercial Fords by Lorin Sorensen is indeed two tone. However, the fenders and grill are not painted black. The subject is painted in demonstrator colors. These trucks were painted with the hood, cab, and bed in silver with dark blue grill shell and fenders. Attached is a picture of my truck with 42,000 original miles. The paint is original. Both the truck pictured in the book and mine are deluxe models and feature such uncommon features as chrome grill bars, twin deluxe horns, chrome windshield frame, twin sun visors, a fancy dome light, and special stainless trim around the hood vents.

Even better! If I cloned yours and it grew into yellow/blue that'd be PERFECT!

Sidetrack: I was looking for info on demonstrators and found that the V-8 Club's Northern Virginia Regional Group had an article in their April 2004 newsletter, Valve Clatter, written by Dave Gunnarson. http://www.nvrg.org/Valve%20Clatter/...004/VC0404.pdf

There are seven or eight photos/drawings/adverts of 35-36-37's. Pages 4 & 5.

[QUOTE=Cool Kat with Hot Car;1215310]To me putting black fenders on a 35-41 pickup is just wrong.

Ahh nuts! was gonna have my fenders painted black to match my running boards. RDRR

As I had my cab painted Folk stone grey a few years ago and now just got the new bed recently painted, those guys did a hell of a job trying to get the new bed color to match the cab.

This has been a good thread with lots of good input/info.

Those ARE good looking tires. Are they 6.50-16's?? Remember where you got them?

Don and Lawson thanks much.

I am running 6.50-16's now but I sure like the look of the Goodyears. Either size in a GY would work good thanks again.
