Default 1930's Ford axle and Wheels??

I need some help from you guys. I bought the beginnings of a utility trailer a while ago and was going to finish it out myself. Well recently I was told that it looks like someone took the front end off of an old 1930's Ford and built this trailer with. They said the axle, springs and wheels look 1930's original. I was hoping one of you guys could tell from these pictures if that is the case. And secondly if it is would it be worth anything??

Those are Ford Wire Wheels and hubcaps. When I was kid in the 60s and 70s there was a guy on Rimbach Street in Hammond, Indiana who had a trailer just like that.

Is it worth anything or are these pretty common parts?

Wheels - $50,Axle - $50,spindles -$50.Springs are not ford.I'd leave it alone and use as is.

Is anything welded to the axle? I've found a few that had crap welded to it.

No, the springs are bolted to the trailer framing and that is it.

There must be something holding the front wheels in a straight-ahead position otherwise the trailer would be all over the road as it's a front axle complete with spindles and tie rod.

I found a similar setup last year. Turned out mine was 33-34 front axle. Every single component was welded together.

I'm guessing the tie rod has been flattened and bolted through the web of the axle near the middle. It may have been cut in two.

Not worth a fortune, $100 -$150 somewhere in that region. Wheels are not rare but are sought after. Axle is useful but devalued by the drilling.

If you end up not using it, a rodder or restorer will find the parts useful.

Mart.

As already identified, this is a 16" Wire Wheel from a 1935 Ford. As the Axle has probably been welded, the Wheels and Hubcap are the best parts on this Trailer. Why don't you clean it up and use the Trailer behind your old Ford?
