Can someone provide information on how to adjust clutch pedal and how pedal should be in a 1946 ford 3 spd on column

pedal should have 1 to 1 1/2 inches of free play at the clutch pedal, push the pedal down with your fingers to get a more exact measurement, there is a rod going from the clutch pedal arm to the throw out bearing arm, that is where you adjust the clutch

from the top when you depress the clutch pedal, there will be no pressure on the pedal till the throw out bearing hits the pressure plate, man I hope your serious with these questions and not just jacking me around

I'm serious just bought the car and when I shift a lot of grinding . I have had model a in past this is first early. V8 thanks for teplied

how much free play do you have at the pedal, if you don't have enough free play the clutch will not release completely from the fly wheel and it will keep turning the trans main shaft and cause gear grinding

As your freeplay seems to be good, I would venture to say the grinding is caused by excessive wear in the clutch plate and/or pressure plate.
