Great, so as I see it and Ford Canada can not tell me this I believe that the aluminum head only came out in 1949. The Merc may have had them longer do not know. I also understand the standard "flat Head" had 101 hp but the aluminum head had slightly domed pistons and had 147 hp . It is scary when you guys know more about late 40 fords than Ford Canada

Pictured, C8BA and C8CM (Canadian ONLY) factory heads. 1949 was NOT the first year for Canadian, aluminum heads. DD
