lay the hose down there and see if it is too long.
Bend in the middle to put it on as stated above. You can also use gasket sealer to help the hoses slip on and it will help seal also. WD 40 is a help too and it eventually goes away. It's the only thing I ever use WD-40 for.
I have not done a '36 in almost a year but I did a '35 this week.
