Yes, the Y-blocks left the factory with lighter oils. Technically my 57 Y-block had a oil spec of 5w-30, or 10w-30 for summetrtime driving. The 20s were for winter service. I am used to the thicker viscosities in my collector cars, so this was a big change for me.
