A lot depends on the clutch control system you want. Shoe box Fords and 52 thru 53 Fords & Mercury cars have the lever fulcrum type clutch actuator where the late 1951 Mercury cast iron bell has the rotating clutch control like early Fords that use an equalizer set up. The late 51 Merc set up is one year only but they are still out there. Getting one with the bottom cover pan can be difficult but all the cast iron bells used on the cars have the same bottom cover.
