This is an old question I posted a while back but it's come back to haunt me so I"ll try it again.
The shop manual for my stock 1951 8ba calls for an ignition coil with a primary resistance reading of 1.05 to 1.15 and a secondary reading of 4,100. The Echlin coil listed for this car is a Ech lC7 that has a primary of 1.04 to 1.27 and a secondary of 7,700 to 9,500. So according to the manual the secondary resistance on the Echkin coil is wrong or maybe it does not matter. The 1951 year uses no external resister and the lC7 is labeled (no external resister required) I guess I have to much time on my hands but this is bugging me. Is there a simple answer here? Thanks- Bill |
