The last two items I bought came (ALMOST CAME) by Fedex. They both went to a company, the same one, even thought the package supposedly had my home address on it. Fedex said to contact the shippers who verified they put MY address on the packages. No more Fedex for me!

I'd prefer them to use the USPS if it fits it ships boxes for set prices.
I ordered 15 items the most expensive $86. Shipping was $13.70 to CA.
Their message to me that it has shipped states -
FEDEX FLAT RATE PADDED PACK
So I don't have much confidence the gaskets will arrive in usable condition.

Tom you have that right..
Real quick, I was waiting for a pretty large check from a Bank in California, Bank of the West, to use to go buy an antique car that was about 700-800 miles from my house. It was sent by 'Fed Ex'?
I had to have the check on a Monday we were leaving to go get the car. I sat outside my door all day waiting for them it never showed up. When I'd check the tracking it kept saying 'Out for Delivery'.
PO'ed by this time I called the FedEx Dist, point that was 30 miles from my house. The lady was nice said 'let me check on that.... oh here it is. Jason has you marked as 'Owner Not Home.' I told her the story and she said 'Well, that doesn't surprise me. Jason does that all the time when he doesn't feel like driving out to a distant location he just puts down 'Owner Not Home' and brings back the packages. He has done that a lot.'
Not like the bloody Tom Hanks character in the movie 'Castaway' what a farce

Why and when they refused is irrelevant. Other vendors can do it, why not Brattons?

I tried to read the laws introduced at the time and couldn't understand it. That is what Brattons also said at the time. Feel free to try yourself.
I put in a complaint to the minister at the time responsible, that businesses were refusing to send here. The response was ... "that should not happen".

I don't know why they didn't. But we have Snyders through Henry's parts, and Brattons through Early Ford Parts, so I'll support the local Aussie retailer and let them deal with the import duties and transport costs.
