Have seen them but a bad choice as the wear little flat spots or ridges from just rocking back and forth.

As Kiwin points out needle bearings on king pin's are prone to failure. This has been discussed on this and other sites and it's not a good idea. Bearings like to rotate at their designed rate, not rotate at a few degrees back and forth.

We've supplied needle roller thrust bearings for 20's -30's Dodges &have had NO problems with wear at all what so ever.These AREN'T needle roller cages but needle roller thrust, which is a washer with needle rollers pressed into it ,commonly used in torque convertors&manual transmissions for there load carrying capacity, the trade part number is : TORRINGTON NTA thrust needle roller assembly&TRA/TRB/TRC for the washer assembly which the NTA thrust needle roller bearing sits on they're availa ble in differrent dimensions &thickness, they lighten up your steering.

Torringtons and the above-mentioned king pin roller bearings are TWO completely different animals which actually work (or don't work for the king pins) based on two different sets of physical principles. Coop . |
