Default 1953 Mercury Power steering Cylinder

Hi Folks,
I'm adding power steering to my 1953 Monterey and I have found almost all original parts. The power cylinder has small leak so I was thinking to buy another one. Rockauto has two types.

Lares 30 has external tube, like mine, but is only Remanufactured and the core is a problem for me as I live in Italy. The other one, lares 10031 is new and cheaper.

Has anyone tried swapping them and know if they are more or less interchangeable?

Thank you.

they swap out but you may find the hose ports are a different size and so new custom made hoses would be needed or an adapto. Over the years I have swaped many PS rams. The anchor to the steering gear and length are the important points to consider.
