Hope these are what you need. Surprised you couldn't find something locally to look at. According to the article in the July-Aug 1973 issue of Ford Life they made about 1658 worldwide and being trucks I am sure they were all treated gently and survived.

Now I understand the confusion. First photo is from you of the subject part. The remaining ones show the part installed on my truck.Thee two large holes missing on your part were probably for tooling to locate the metal. The 3 holes not drilled on your part are to attach the parts to the sill. In addition one small screw hole needs to be added for a screw that passes from the door jam, thru the wood and is attached with a small nut.

How much wood in the body? (Early 31, March?)
Floorboards, door jams (which are used to attach to upholstery) and 3 pieces to the support for the seat. The bottom of these pieces is attached with a bolt to the seat riser and the top bolt goes through the body. (first through third pictures) I assumed there would be more wood near the top. I was surprised to find the top of the body was not reinforced with wood but instead had a piece and 90-degree angle iron. The vertical part picked up the fasteners for the top fabric. This had the correct “patina” and didn’t appear to have been made in someone’s garage. The fasteners were added but I assume they matched what was used originally. (forth and fifth pictures) Please tell me if this is what you are finding. Charlie Stephens Last edited by Charlie Stephens; 08-12-2025 at 09:59 PM. |
