Alan, I think you may have just answered my question. Maybe it's because some people don't know how this forum actually works??

You are correct that if someone clicks on the thumbnail photo one time, it does open it in a low resolution. That is by design to allow the image to load fast. If someone immediately double-clicks on the same picture, then it immediately opens in the same exact resolution & size as when someone reposts it. So in reality, there is not an actual benefit to re-post pictures, -and while for some folks it may not bother them whether it is done or not, it does severely handicap others of us that are using our smart phones to read the Forum.

Because there really is not a need for that. No sense slowing down to load hi-res photos each time you visit a thread.
