Assuming that with whatever change you make (transmission, gear change or overdrive ) you get 15% better gas mileage.(and that's a stretch)
At 87¢ a gallon. Divide that into what you expect to pay for the modifications.
That should give you the number of gallons that you would have to burn before you get to the break even point. Something to think about.
