Re: Improved car wheel color advice
Kinda reminds me of the Chicle Drab/Copra Drab Model A paint scheme, which I think came with either black or Straw wheels. Either would look nice, IMO.

1952 accessory side trim?
I ran across this car at the cruise-in before the Hemmings Motor News Concours D'Elegance. It caught my eye because of the non-standard side trim for a '52, which I found very attractive.

Re: 30-31 pickup beds
On a related note, can anyone say what the original wood species was on a standard ‘31 bed and how it was finished? I’m thinking it was likely painted oak, but I’d like to know for certain.

Re: U-bolt Applications
Well, geez, what's the fun in that?
Hmm, I don't have the wagon pieces, so I guess the Falcon... but they probably won't have the spacing correct for the larger u-bolts.

Re: U-bolt Applications
Thanks guys. Sounds like the T-bird u-bolts might be the ticket. If they're too long, maybe I'll experiment with lowering blocks - the rear would look good with an inch or two of drop.

Re: U-bolt Applications
For the record, I realize the '56 wagon uses a Dana 44 and the '57 cars use the 9-inch; but the crossover between the '55-'56 and '57 Thunderbirds makes me think dimensionally the axle tubes are the...

Re: How to keep a 1962 title?
A friend just went through this process in Michigan - they voided his vintage title and issued him a new one. No idea whether they'll do that in Illinois, though.

Re: 1952 Fordomatic rear-end ratio?
Well, that would be even better.
I wonder where I got 3.73?
Was there originally a tag with a code or some other way to tell without counting teeth or turns?
