Pretty much as above:
Set both distributors at .020.
Put the engine on the timing mark.
Install the first distributor and set the timing and tighten the cam screw and remove the distributor...

I agree.
The trick is to torque only the right side. Then install the carrier and start running the bolts down on the left side evenly and turn the ring gear with your finger until you feel it...
