Re: Perch pin removal help
I have removed them with a 30 ton press. Some would not come out, though. Heat the axle bore to red hot and push with the biggest press you have access to. Be very careful using a press at maximum...

Re: newly rebuilt and a knock
If you have to push down on the distributor it sounds like the spring that holds the dist./oil pump drive gear up has popped out of position. That spring kind of wants sits at a cockeyed angle anyway...

Re: TT truck year id
It looks like a '27 to me. The motor or the block at least is probably a factory replacement part. Ford provided replacement parts for these for a couple of years after production ended. There were...

Re: Oil Drain Tube Thread Size
Ford used two different sizes of these tubes. The one the vendors have is the later version meant to cure a problem with clogging, etc. You may have to search for a used one or drill and tap the cap...

Re: Stall on incline
Check the screen in the carburetor. It's in the fitting where the fuel line attaches. You obviously have a restriction somewhere in the line. Check the sediment bowl, too. the originals can get rust...

Re: Resistor for 12V coil
Have you tried a stock resistor for a '41 ? to '48 ? It's a small wire wound resistor that would drop 6 volts down to 3 point something. with 12 volts it may put you in the ballpark.
Early V8 parts...

There will still be some oil in the box when you pull the light switch and tube. If you fill the thing to the top it will often, if not usually, leak oil into the switch and onto the ground. There is...

Re: Scratching my head. Whatzit?
